Fontucky State Series
#3
Report By Taylor Libolt

After a not so thrilling race run at
Angel Fire last weekend, I stepped it up
a notch aboard my new
Tomac Primer. Saturday I did about
8 practice runs on what was probably one
of the funnest courses Donny and
Southridge have put on this year.
Nothing was too tricky about it, just
wide open and fast with great corners
and a couple little rocks to jump. The
bike worked great, I couldn't have asked
for anything better. My first run down
the hill on Sunday morning put me into
5th position. I was separated from 4th
by a meager .03 seconds, and holding off
6th place by about the same margin.
Race times were very tight, and a
slipped gear seems to have meant the
difference between being on the podium
and going home empty handed.
Fortunately, I have a habit of being
faster my 2nd run down the hill. I
stepped it up a bit for run 2, hit all
my lines and shaved 1.5 seconds off of
my first run time. Everybody else in my
class had a slightly slower 2nd run, and
I was able to pull off a 2nd place
overall for the day once times were
combined!

Big Bear Shoot-Out:
Race Report by Chris Sharp
The Backboners loaded up the podium at
last weekend's BIG BEAR SHOOTOUT!
Vanessa managed FIRST, Matt Thome
took SECOND, and Brant landed FOURTH!
Vegas Bob KILLED it finishing in the
top 10. Darter sent some pix, and
said he actually threw down a top-20
finish as well (15th)! Bert was out with
the HIV (just kidding), but he was sick,
and so he and Ryan were out this time.
Looking forward to hearing about James'
keeping all the responsible people awake
too late, and Vegas Bob hitting the wind
trainer at midnight!
Great work Super-V and the rest of the
Backbone Squad.. and that certainly
included Roger for keeping it all
together.

Vanessa Humic: 1st place

Newcomer Matt Thome 2nd place
